BBC - Highland films screened at Cannes

Three films with scenes shot in the Highlands and Islands will be showcased at the 60th Cannes Film Festival.

They include the first Gaelic feature to be screen at the French event, which opens on Wednesday.  The Inaccessible Pinnacle, Seachd in Gaelic, is a family drama filmed on the Isle of Skye.

Mister Lonely, a Scottish and French co-production, has scenes shot around Plockton while some filming for Stardust was done in Wester Ross.

Meanwhile, Trish Shorthouse, of the Scottish Highlands and Islands Film Commission, will be at Cannes to help promote the Scottish films and cultivate new contacts.
